Current Research Projects

QuARUm (since 2023)

Quality Assessment of Analytical Data in Resource and Environmental Research

Previous Research Projects

Ga-Al systematics in Banded Iron Formations (2019-2023)

We investigated the coupled and decoupled behavior of the geochemical partners gallium-aluminium and germanium-silicon during the precipitation of iron-rich sediments in the marine environment.

TRAM (2020)

Tracing origin and distribution of geogenic and anthropogenic dissolved and particulate critical high-technology metals in the southern North Sea.

Selective Leaching of Rare Earth Elements from Ferromanganese Precipitates (2017-2019)

We developed different leaching procedures using organic and inorganic ligands to selectively extract Rare Earth Elements and other Critical Metals from marine Ferromanganese Nodules and Crusts. The ligands were evaluated for their selectivity and extraction efficiencies.
